NELSON DE LEON It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Nelson de Leon, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. He passed away peacefully at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, AB on Saturday, March 6, 2010, surrounded by his family. He was 59 years old. He was predeceased by his parents, Filipe and Margarita de Leon, and his brothers, Jose (Thek), Ernesto (Mila), and Dalmacio (Ana). He leaves behind his best friend and beloved wife of 34 years, Fe. Nelson served in the United States Navy for four years prior to moving to Canada to be with his wife and son. He worked for many years at ColdStream Inc. He had a wonderful sense of humour, a contagious laugh, and a smile that could comfort anyone. Nothing brought more joy to Nelson than being with his children and in September 2009, Nelson and Fe moved to Calgary to be with them. They always brought a twinkle to his eyes. He had the opportunity to watch his son get married and his grandchildren grow. His children, Marife de Leon, Richard de Leon (Maria) and his three grandchildren Kiyanah, Jaizel-lyn, and Devin will miss him greatly. Nelson also leaves behind to mourn him, his siblings Rogelio (Lina), Alfredo (Remedios), Rodrigo, Alex (Sandra), and Alona (Jose); his in-laws Ben and Teofila Pangilinan, Jun (Precy), Tessie (Arman), Neneng (Dion), Armie (Edgar), Ferdie (Susan), and Baby (Boy); and many relatives and friends. The de Leon family would like to express their thanks to the nurses and staff of Foothills Medical Centre for the attentive care. We would also like to thank family and friends for all their support during this difficult time. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church on 748 Keewatin Street. A reception will follow in the church hall from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. For any inquiries, please contact Tessie Soriano at 633-1642.
